Annual Easter Egg Hunt

Our Annual Easter Egg Hunt for the children of Hokendauqua will be held on Saturday – March 23rd starting at 1:00 PM at the baseball fields at the park. The rain date for this event will be on Saturday – March 30th at the same time. Please park in the lot next to the storage building or the pavilion building or along the creek.

Warke/Horn Scholarship Program
-
In continuation of its Warke/Horn Scholarship Program, The Hokendauqua Park and Playground Association (HPPA) will again be awarding two $1,000 scholarships.
This year marks the 26th anniversary of our basketball tournament whose proceeds are used to fund the scholarship awards. That tournament will now be known as the Bob Warke – Dale Horn Basketball Tournament and it was held at the Whitehall Middle School from February 23rd – March 3rd.
The applications for these scholarships have now been submitted for review by HPPA members. To be eligible for the Warke/Horn Scholarship, the applicant must be a class of 2013 high school eligible graduate, be continuing his/her education in the fall of 2013, must have participated in the organization’s baseball, softball or basketball youth programs and must have completed the scholarship application form and returned it to the HPPA prior to February 28th, 2013. Additional requirements were listed on the application and our web site. An application is also attached to this message. The organization will review all of the applications and select one girl and one boy to receive the scholarships at our March/April meeting.
